There are lots of flowers, lots of ribbons and lots of mirrors, four mirrors in fact!
Reflections is what this flower painting is all about. Sometimes it's just not convenient to get fresh flowers, so cheat a little, use silk flowers. Many artifical flowers look like the real thing Baby.
Of course, nothing beats the real thing but these will do in a pinch. This flower painting was painted from a set-up, not a photograph. It's fun to gather up items and arrange them into a dynamic composition! Your painting ability will jump miles ahead, when you start setting up your own arrangements. Very exciting stuff!!

This flower painting works no matter which way you turn it. To get various angles, I simply turned the flower around, one petunia blossom was all I used to draw the fine art arrangement.
I bought one little petunia, the real thing Baby! It was fun, plus you get to really see how the flower is put together and that makes it more convincing to paint.

You can tell I love red! Many of my paintings are this color. This flower painting really says red. The amaryllis blossoms were grown in a neighbors yard and I photographed them from many angles. A nice fine art flower painting resulted.

This isn't a flower painting but the plant was so intriguing I had to paint it. I took many photographs of the plant and ended up zeroing in on a small area. It was the abstract pattern that I found so interesting, much more than the actual plant itself.
To make an interesting, fine art painting, I try to look at my photos in a new way. By cropping the photo, I am able to get a totally new composition, one I would not have thought of otherwise. This makes the act of painting, a challenge.A challenge to make an out-standing painting, something that stops people in their tracks. ( I have stopped a few in their tracks......not many, but a few!!! ;-)

Palm fronds are so drab in color, but what wonderful shapes they twist themselves into! A change in color transforms a seemingly bland subject into something very dynamic! This really is an outstanding fine art painting! It has received very good feed-back any place I have exhibited it.

The flower paintings are in water media, poured inks, acrylics, oils and watercolors and were executed on acid free, 100% rag paper and primed canvas. The use of bold, vibrant color, good design and composition makes for very dynamic paintings.
These fine art paintings are nicely framed, but may be purchased without the frames. The price remains the same however, I am selling the watercolor and acrylic paintings and not the framing. Of course, the shipping is much less unframed.
